Cost effective roof surveys. Aerial building, chimney, spire and tower inspections using video and photography.
Cost effective drone roof surveys. Aerial building, chimney, spire and tower inspections using video and photography.
What was previously a difficult and expensive task can now be achieved much more cost-effectively using our remotely piloted drones. Building survey or inspection of roofs, chimneys, towers, stadiums, wind turbines, church spires, etc., no longer needs expensive cherry-pickers or scaffolding. We can give you a series of high resolution images or high definition video of most hard to reach structures. You can even monitor the footage being gathered by the drone on our remote ground station screens to make sure you’re getting exactly the images you require. And there’s no longer the need for anyone to leave the ground so the project is obviously much safer.
Operating to strict safety procedures, approved by the UK’s CAA, Kestrel-Cam’s first priority is the safety of the public and staff on all of our shoots
Building and Roof Surveys with a Drone
Here are a few more samples of the many roofs and buildings that we have surveyed with our drones over the last few months. We are asked to send our drones up to inspect everything from mill chimneys to suspension bridges. And, as part of our contract with Historic England, we are also lucky enough to film some of the country’s most iconic ancient buildings. Watch the video in 4K resolution if you can to see the sort of detail that’s available in our surveys.
So, if you have a structure that is difficult to access or may even be dangerous then a drone survey could be the answer. It’ll cost you a lot less than you might think and certainly less than scaffolding a building so give us a call for a competitive price.
Building and Roof Surveys with a Drone
We have many years’ experience surveying buildings and roofs with our drones. We are asked to inspect structures that are either too hard or too expensive to reach by conventional means. There are also those buildings that are just too dangerous to get close to. Over the years we’ve photographed everything from church spires to aircraft hangars and medieval buildings to schools. We usually supply the drone footage in ultra high definition, 4K video format for the client to assess in the comfort of their own office. This video shows a small selection of the types of work that we’ve been commissioned to carry out. The cost savings over conventional access methods are fantastic so contact us today for an extremely competitive quote for the job.
Building Inspections and Roof Surveys with a Drone
Using our remotely controlled drone we can provide clients with UHD, 4K, video survey footage of structures that would otherwise be difficult to inspect. We film in 4K offering extremely high definition video that can be paused to give excellent views of the building’s structure. This is especially useful where access is difficult or where, for example, a roof is unsound. There’s no need to scaffold a building or hire a cherry picker to carry out your roof survey or building structure survey. We can provide you with the survey footage to analyse on your own PC.
Aerial Drone Survey of Clipstone Colliery Headstocks
As part of a project to assess the condition of the massive headstocks at Clipstone Colliery we were asked to survey the structure with the drone. The headstocks are a listed building and there is some debate about whether they should be preserved. Our survey involved us in flying the drone as close as possible to the metalwork of the headstocks to show how much it had deteriorated over the years. As usual with such jobs we filmed the survey in UHD 4K allowing the client to examine the structure in fine detail.
Aerial Drone Survey of Edinburgh Gasometer
We were asked to survey a Victorian gasometer near Edinburgh. Over several days we flew the drone up and down the fantastic old structure filming every aspect in ultra high definition 4K video. Although not absolutely necessary, the client stayed on site with us for the duration of the survey enabling him to check the quality of the footage as we progressed. The stability of the hexcopter drone means that we can produce some very stable imagery of the structure. The client can scroll through all of the videos later and flag up any concerns in his report. The shot opposite was taken looking straight down on to the gasometer from above.
Historic England Fountains Abbey Survey
As part of our ongoing contract with Historic England we were commissioned to carry out a wall top survey at Fountains Abbey. We spent several days flying the drone over the tops of all of the site’s walls taking stills and video. In order to avoid members of the public we flew the drone outside of opening times.
Royal Liver Building Drone Roof Survey
It would be very costly to scaffold a building to access the very highest features for inspection. Far safer and much cheaper to do the aerial inspection with a drone. In this case we were able to fly our drone up to the Liver Birds to have a close look at how well the birds were faring. This shot is a still from a 4K, ultra high definition, video that we took as part of a survey of the highest parts of the Royal Liver Building for the owners.
Manchester Town Hall Drone Structural Survey
Here’s a shot of the clock tower on Manchester Town Hall. We carried out a survey of the higher levels of the building using our drone. Getting to areas that would have been either impossible or very expensive to reach we were able to provide 4K UHD video footage of the building for the client to examine on a computer at a later date. It was real privilege to be able to see parts of this iconic building which probably haven’t been from these angles since it was built in the 19th Century. We flew the drone all the way to the top of the 80m high spire giving close up views of the entire structure.
We were asked to conduct an aerial inspection of a transport interchange that had had some issues with its construction. With the client alongside to indicate which areas were of concern we were able to fly over the building and gather some Ultra High Definition 4K video of building’s roof. The client was then able to view the video files in his office and report back to the builders. Following the remedial works we were then able to return to re-inspect the roof to show that the works had been successfully carried out.
Using our aerial drone we were able to do a full survey of the roof of this iconic Manchester building. Due to its inherent stability we could fly the drone very close to the roof structure to see any visible defects. With an HD downlink the client can stand with the us and clearly see any potential issues. We can then focus in on these areas and take high definition stills or UHD 4K video as required. Over the course of a day we can cover quite large areas making the whole process of surveying the roof very cost effective.
We were asked to provide still images and 4K video of a power station in the midlands. Using the drone we were able to fly over the roof of the station giving the client views of the structure that they had been unable to see for years. It would have been almost impossible to get access to the roof for inspection purposes so having us provide images and ultra high definition video was extremely useful.
We were commissioned to survey the roof of a building in central Manchester. Owing to the fragility of the structure it was difficult for the developers or architects to gain access to all parts of the roof. Flying from an accessible part of the roof we were able to take a series of 4K UHD high-definition videos. This enabled the developers and their architects to study the roof in great detail, deciding which areas required the remedial work.
To be able to get a close up view of an architectural feature on the outside of a building you would normally have to put up scaffolding or employ a cherry picker. By using Kestrel-Cam and our remotely controlled drone you can get all of the close-ups you want. In this instance the client wanted a complete inspection of the exterior fabric of the building including walls and architectural features. We can supply either hi-res images or, as in this case, ultra high-definition 4K video. Developers or their architects can then inspect the brick or stonework, in comfort, in their offices.
We undertook a project to provide aerial photographs and UHD 4K video of buildings in Central Manchester. Flying the drone from a safe site we were able to provide the client with fantastic high quality stills and superb video which could not have been obtained in any other way.
Owing to the difficulty of accessing the roof of this particular building we were asked to take high resolution stills with our UAV drone. The cost of training staff to work at height, inspecting a series of rooftop aerials, transmitters and antennas would have been prohibitive so the client requested that we fly our drone up to the roof to take photos. We were able to supply images at high resolution which enabled them to check exactly what types of equipment was there and what condition it was in.
The client was not sure of the condition of the roof on this converted mill building. The cost of scaffolding the building would have run into the thousands of pounds and a cherry picker was out of the question due to access issues. We were able to shoot a series of HD videos of the entire roof using our aerial drone and the client was then able to assess the roof’s condition in the comfort of their office.
St Michael and All Angels Church, Chetwynd – 4K
Watch in 4K if possible. Aerial drone footage of a beautiful church in Shropshire. We were commissioned to film the exterior of the church, especially the spire, which had been recently renovated. Filming in 4K enables us to show the stonework in fantastic detail. Not only is this service great for showing off a building in its environment but can also be a useful tool for people wishing to inspect high-level structures from the comfort of their office.
Aerial inspection of wind turbines
Using our UAVs, we can send cameras up to inspect various buildings including wind turbines. This method of inspection is extremely cost effective. In addition we can do pre-build inspections of proposed wind turbine sites or indeed any other sort of building. UAV aerial building inspection photography or video from the experts in the field.
